Homemade Silver Polish Worked!

Just out of curiosity, I tried the homemade silver polish method (hot water, aluminium foil, baking soda and salt) on the new pieces I got recently, and some other ones from years ago. And MAN, it worked like magic! Forgot to take a before picture of the gravy boat, it was so tarnished, dark gray kind of dirty, kind of like this pic I found. And now is the amazing after pictures! I just dipped it in that water for about 5 seconds.

And here are the before and after pictures of the others (silverplate actually). Not as shiny as the gravy boat, but pretty good as well. Don't really care that they are not silver, as long as they are shiny, I love them. And for less than a dollar for 4 pieces, who cares?

Thrifting Finds

Went to local Salvation Army a couple of times lately, and got some great stuffs.

Silver? $1

Little Japanese Flower Jar, $.99.

Small tealight holder. $1 with all the silver pieces.

Gorgeous table lamp. Love the green glass ball and the shape. Might need to paint other parts and get a new shade. Hope the wires works. $5 with all the organizers.

Free from the recycle pile outside my office. Need a fresh coat of paint and some deep cleaning.

More Felt Goodies

I have been really busy lately. So, ignored my blog for a while. Sorry.
Anyway, I made more felt goodies for my niece and my little girl. I am sure she will like them. There are lots of blue stuffs here, it's not because blue is my favorite color, it's just my niece wears unitforms to school, and they are only allowed to wear blue or black accessories. If these passed, I will make her more blue cuties later. Oh, if you want to see what else I made for her, click here.
